The Calcumator 2000 is an electromechanical project by lcamtuf. Rather than standard 7-segment displays, it uses seven meter readouts. Six of them show the digits 0 through 9, and a seventh marks the decimal position for floating-point numbers.
Its look comes from a custom blue acrylic front panel. The lettering and artwork were cut out with a CNC mill after painting, then filled with white paint to create a layered effect.
For all its vintage style, it is not a purely analog machine. A microcontroller does the calculations and drives the meters to their positions.
