Every Laravel starter kit now builds with Vite+, the unified toolchain that entered beta on July 2, 2026. Taylor Otwell announced the change on X. The work landed in laravel/maestro#60 by Wendell Adriel, and Maestro synced it the same day to the React, Vue, Svelte, and Livewire kit repositories. The pull request pins vite-plus at 0.3.0.

Vite+ packages Vite, Rolldown, Vitest, tsdown, Oxlint, Oxfmt, and Vite Task behind one CLI, vp, and it also handles the runtime and package manager. For the starter kits, that means ESLint and Prettier are gone from the frontend setup.

The Inertia kits used to run lint, lint:check, format, and format:check as separate scripts. vp check now handles all three tasks in one pass: it formats with Oxfmt, lints with Oxlint, and checks types. The package.json scripts are now build (vp build), build:ssr, dev (vp dev), check, check:fix, and types:check (tsc --noEmit). composer ci:check now runs npm run check instead of the old lint and format checks.

Removing the old toolchain deleted eslint.config.js, .prettierrc, and .prettierignore from each Inertia kit, plus roughly a dozen devDependencies including eslint, typescript-eslint, prettier, and the ESLint plugins for React, Vue, Svelte, and imports. The React kit alone dropped 129 lines of ESLint config.

The rules now live in vite.config.ts under lint and fmt keys, with denyWarnings and type-aware linting enabled, and Tailwind class sorting configured via fmt.sortTailwindcss.

Per stack: the React kit moved to @vitejs/plugin-react v6. It now runs the React Compiler through @rolldown/plugin-babel, dropping the plugin's babel option. The Svelte kit swapped lucide-svelte for @lucide/svelte. The Livewire kit had the smallest diff: two files, since it has no TypeScript to lint.

New applications pick this up automatically. Existing Vite projects can migrate with vp migrate, though VoidZero warns that complex projects may need manual follow-up. The full diff is in laravel/maestro#60, and the docs are at viteplus.dev.
