Rust Project Resurrects the 8088 Processor, Cycle by Cycle
MartyPC, an open-source project written in Rust, emulates early IBM-compatible PCs with cycle-accurate timing, mimicking original hardware quirks rather than just running old software. The emulator runs across major operating systems and pulled in 105 points on Hacker News, proof that greybeard silicon still commands an audience willing to debug interrupts from 1981.
