Home now from Laravel Live Denmark. Really, the best part of conferences are the people you meet. Was blown away after this years afterconference events that somehow included laser tag and a day trip to Malmö. Incredible!

Laravel Live Denmark is over, and it was a pretty special one 🎉

Finally got to meet @taylorotwell and @abigailotwell. Such a lovely couple!

Being married to @Dehsarvi for 10 years, I know how important it is to have a partner who supports your work and shares the journey with you.

I've always noticed Abigail being part of the Laravel community through photos and videos from events, so it was really nice to finally meet her in person.

I also had the chance to chat with Taylor, after briefly meeting him at the Laravel Cloud event. Talking with him definitely left me energized and even more motivated to experiment with new ideas, and give back to the ecosystem I've been part of for so many years.

Unexpected and mostly useless things I learned at #LaravelLiveDenmark:

1. I don't like beef tartare
2. I'm better at laser tag than I expected (I'm still not good though)
3. A group of a ferrets is called a business of ferrets

I love the social events at conferences so much.

A simple #security tip that came up during the Laravel Live Denmark lunch. How do you keep employees from leaving their computers unlocked when they leave their desk during breaks?

🔥 Fuse for Laravel v0.10.0 is out!

After my talk at Laravel Live Denmark, three different people asked me the same question: when a half-open circuit runs its test job and it fails, does that job keep its place in the queue? It doesn't. release() sends it to the back, behind jobs that were queued after it.

The new OldestJobProbe strategy fixes this: the oldest held job becomes the probe and stays the probe until it succeeds, no matter how many workers you run.

Also in this release: three race fixes in the circuit breaker itself, found during that testing. Worth the upgrade even if you skip the new strategy.

Laravel Live Denmark @laravellivedk last week was a great success. 😄

Laravel Denmark @laraveldenmark is a non-profit association, and the community is our highest priority. What we make goes straight back into it.

Sweden is a big country with a young Laravel community, and that makes it hard to get speakers to their meetups. We wanted to help with that.

So we surprised the Swedish Laravel Association @LaravelSweden 🇸🇪 on stage by revealing that they will receive 20.000 SEK of this year's surplus to pay for transport and other costs of getting speakers to their future meetups.
